Ellesmere Campsites

Ellesmere is our closest town, only 4 miles from Willenhall. It is notable for its proximity to a number of prominent Meres. This is North Shropshire’s Lake/Mere district.

It is a thriving little town and prides itself on individual and independent shops. Some have been in the same family for generations.

This is easily walkable, via the canal tow path, only minutes from our park.
There are plenty of cafes, pubs, and inns, where you can sit down and recharge.

Powis Castle and Gardens

Powis Castle and Gardens are in Welshpool, another wonderful Welsh Town, an hour’s drive from us. Just a stones throw from the best caravan park for families!

Llangollen

Llangollen is a little Welsh town, with a big Welsh character and has everything you could ever wish for. 20 minutes from Willenhall Way.

It has a river, canal, and railway in the very heart of it all.Llangollen Wharf, one of the major attractions of North Wales. The Wharf is situated in the very heart of this peaceful town.Horse drawn boat trips along the feeder of the main canal and are a unique way to explore the area. You can explore this beautiful area any time of year as our campsite is all year round.

Hanmer Mere

Hanmer Mere is delightful, and a wonderfully kind gentleman has sorted out the walking routes to this peaceful village from Willenhall Way and many other walks from our park.

Colemere and Whitemere

Colemere and Whitemere, are both used as sailing clubs. Colemere is particularly brilliant if you wish to take your dogs for a wonderful walk. You can walk right round the mere. It takes an hour. It is a wonderful place for a picnic. Walkable via the canal tow path from Willenhall.

Whixall Marina

Whixall Marina, is a true gem, and again walkable from Willenhall. A wonderful walk, along the canal towpath, to the Marina, where wonderful food from their café, is to be found.

Whixall Moss

Whixall Moss, is part of the world renowned, Fenns. Whixall and Bettisfield Mosses National Nature Reserve and home to a number of rare species. Whixall Marina is one side of this important SSSi and Willenhall Way is 2 km the other.

(Please make sure when you venture onto the Nature reserve, you have plenty of insect repellent, as Rog and my daughter Kate, came back with a lot of bites, a few years back).

Alderford Lake

Alderford Lake, on a warm sunny day, why ever would you go to the beach, when this is only minutes away. Just on the outskirts of Whitchurch, our other local town, in the opposite direction. They have 14 acres of water, which is home to wild swimming and many other water-based activities. They also have an amazing café.

Hawkstone Follies

Not far from here are Hawkstone Follies. Set in 100 acres of parkland, The Follies are a range of dramatic and rugged natural sandstone hills that were developed to include gullies, caves, towers and bridges.

Wollerton Old Hall Gardens

Wollerton Old Hall Gardens, Hodnet Hall Gardens and Dorothy Clive Gardens are all 30 minutes from Willenhall.

British Ironwork Centre and Shropshire Sculpture Park

British Ironwork Centre and Shropshire Sculpture Park is also in Oswestry. This is totally unique attraction full of inspirational art and sculptures with a unique café.

Motorised Aqueduct Cruises

Motorised Aqueduct Cruises are also on offer for those who prefer a slightly faster pace. Both trips allow Visitors to take in all the magnificent sites of the Llangollen Canal.

BeWILDerwood

A newly built BeWILDerwood, is nr Malpas, Bickley Moss, Cheshire. This is a full-on action-packed day out for everyone. This is a unique woodland adventure park and is located next to historic Cholmondeley Castle in south Cheshire.

Chirk Castle

Chirk Castle, and Erddig are both National Trust properties and are 20 minutes away from Willenhall Way.

Bangor Races

Bangor Races are on our doorstep. They hold regular meetings.
A newly built BeWILDerwood, is nr Malpas, Bickley Moss, Cheshire. This is a full-on action-packed day out for everyone. This is a unique woodland adventure park and is located next to historic Cholmondeley Castle in south Cheshire.

Park Hall Countryside Experience

Park Hall Countryside Experience is 20 minutes away and is a fabulous day out for children. A true chance to get close to farm animals and get lost in the Maize. They have all sorts of events taking place through the school holidays.
